Break the boundaries, everything can be woven!" What are the prospects for the development of textile science and technology in the future? What subversive changes will be driven by the change and innovation of textile science and technology in the world?

From December 1st to 4th, the first "2022 International Textile Frontier Science and Technology Conference and World Textile University Alliance Annual Conference" was held at Donghua University. More than 110 keynote reports participated by more than 60 units from 12 countries were carried out smoothly. Focusing on the frontier and key issues of the whole textile discipline chain, such as modern textile processing technology, intelligent textile, biomedical textile, ecological textile, textile equipment, etc., the world's well-known experts in textile and related fields gather in the cloud to contribute wisdom to the prosperity and development of global textile science and technology and education industry.

Textile frontier science and technology "promising"

The convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has provided key ideas for the development of textile disciplines and industries. As the leader of the world textile industry, China has always adhered to the responsibility of self-reliance and self-reliance with science and technology. Textiles have the ideal characteristics of carrying people's growing needs for a better life. They span 12 scales from nanometer to kilometer. Traditional textiles are "transformed" and riding on "science and technology carriages". They are penetrating into biomedicine, brain-computer interface, aerospace vehicles, energy management, intelligent wearables and other fields with lightning speed. At the conference, academicians and experts from the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the Japanese Academy of Engineering, the American Academy of Sciences and other units threw out "sharp" views, collided with the sparks of innovation, and offered suggestions for the "promising" textile frontier science and technology.

Yu Jianyong, chairman of the conference, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Donghua University, said that nanofibers can be widely used in fields closely related to people's lives, such as heat insulation, intelligent textile, filtration and separation, through cutting-edge research such as refinement of fineness of electrospun nanofibers, expansion of materials from organic to inorganic, transformation of structure from fluffy to compact, and construction of dimensions from two-dimensional to three-dimensional.

"The textile industry chain is complete and has huge market opportunities!" National Academy of Sciences, Stanford University professor Cui Yi said. Polyolefin fabric with infrared characteristics and porous structure is a new type of fabric that is "light and warm". Its rich material technology is expected to promote the realization of the vision of "carbon neutrality" in the global economy.

How does cutting-edge textile technology land? Xing Mengqiu, an academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and a professor at the University of Manitoba in Canada, said at the forum: "We started from application-oriented basic research to carry out research on the mechanism of self-healing hydrogel biomedical textiles, reflecting the clinical value of cutting-edge textile technology."

Tao Xiaoming, a member of the International Textile Society and dean of the Institute of Intelligent Wearables of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, expressed academic views on the development prospects of intelligent materials: "Flexible intelligent wearable systems combine cutting-edge technologies in multi-disciplinary fields such as intelligent materials, microelectronics, fiber structures and artificial intelligence, and are expected to help Parkinson's patients improve their walking quality through early detection and active intervention."

Textile Advanced Technology and Industry "Unlimited Vitality"

The general public still has the inherent impression that textile is spinning and weaving. The textile industry has already had a high-tech robe. In the major forum reports of this conference, the new picture of "capturing the moon in the upper nine days and catching turtles in the lower five oceans" was shown.

"With the development of informatization and digital technology, the future textile and clothing will be fully flexible printed. Perhaps there will be a clothing printer at the gate of every community in the future. After swiping the card, you can wait for the clothing to be printed." Fu Guangwei, vice chairman of the conference and chairman of the China Textile Engineering Society and chairman of the Asian Textile Society Alliance, said, "Such a scenario means that China's textile industry will face huge changes in cutting-edge science and technology."

"Cutting-edge, cutting-edge textile research will bring fundamental subversion to the advanced textile industry!" Li Lingshen, vice chairman of the conference, vice chairman of the China Textile Industry Federation, and secretary of the Party Committee of the China Textile Engineering Society, said that the future development of the textile industry should focus on the technical aspects of high-value, green and extensive application of new fiber materials; Common basic research of advanced textiles and the overcoming of digital and automation technical problems.

Ni Qingqing, academician of the Japanese Academy of Engineering and executive deputy director of the Zhejiang Modern Textile Innovation Center, pointed out in his report: "The application of modern textiles represented by light-weight and high-strength carbon fiber composites in the field of transportation such as automobile high-speed rail and electromagnetic shielding shows: Under the environmental requirements of the era of'carbon peak and carbon neutral', modern textile cutting-edge technology provides a good opportunity for industrial development and innovation." Mei Shunqi, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and professor of Wuhan Textile University, said that in the future, the textile industry will mainly achieve high-quality development through the transformation and upgrading from traditional to cutting-edge technology. Green manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing are both important starting points for the textile industry to realize the "double carbon strategy.

As far as "the path of textile equipment innovation and development" is concerned, Zhu Xianmin, senior consultant of China Textile Machinery Association, expert of national intelligent manufacturing standardization expert advisory group, and former chairman of intelligent manufacturing expert group of National Manufacturing Power Construction Strategy Advisory Committee, believes that at present, there are mainly four directions: industrial revolution, technological progress, product innovation and material development.

"Global textile technology innovation is expected to be achieved through two aspects." Sun Ruizhe, honorary chairman of the conference, chairman of the International Federation of textile manufacturers and President of China Textile Industry Federation, pointed out that "first, we should focus on the innovation of textile equipment, materials, technology and products, change the industrial form with cutting-edge science and technology, and nurture the future and future industries of the industry; second, we should focus on expanding the bio-economy, big health field, digital creative industry and marine economy related to extend the industrial boundary with cutting-edge technology, promote the integration of innovation and innovation integration."

"the belt and road initiative" Circle of Friends

Talk about building a world textile "community"

At the same time, the annual meeting of the World Textile University Union was held. The alliance is an unincorporated academic group initiated in 2018 by Donghua University and universities with textile characteristics around the world. There are 35 member universities from 18 countries.

The theme of this year's conference is "Sharing Digital Opportunities for a Green Future". Representatives of universities from China, Pakistan, Serbia, Iran, and Malaysia, experts, scholars and industry representatives from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and institutions exchanged and shared to discuss how to deal with the new opportunities brought about by changes in the world situation under the background of the normalization of the global epidemic And new challenges, in-depth exchange of new strategies for the development of textile technology among the "Belt and Road" countries: accelerate the green transformation of the development mode, promote the green and low-carbon sustainable development of the international textile industry, so as to further promote the exchanges and cooperation of textile and garment universities in countries along the "Belt and Road", and provide technical and intellectual support for the joint construction of the "Belt and Road.

"in recent years, based on textile, materials, design and other advantageous disciplines, Donghua University closely connects with the national strategic needs, tracks the frontiers of international textile academic and industrial development, and constantly expands the field of discipline development. a large number of scientific research achievements are widely used in aerospace, construction engineering, environmental protection and other fields." Yu Jianyong pointed out, "in the future, Donghua University will take this conference as an opportunity to continue to give full play to its discipline advantages in advanced textiles, gather elites and wisdom, make new contributions to the prosperity and development of global textile science and technology, education and industry, and strive to become a leader in international textile education and scientific and technological innovation, Use the Chinese wisdom of textile people to condense the Chinese plan for the development of world textile disciplines."
